Project Inspiration

This website is driven by the 2025 UniSC Occupational Therapy Honours project titled “High-End Home Automation (HeHA): Developing Occupational Therapy Knowledge and Collaborative Practice with Automation Integrators.”

Our project explores how occupational therapists can confidently prescribe and collaborate within high-end home automation systems  technologies that enhance independence, autonomy, and participation for people with disabilities.We aim to bridge the gap between Occupational Therapists and Integrators, empowering future therapists to use smart technology not just as assistive tools, but as enablers of meaningful occupation.

Irish and Australian stakeholders both influenced the design and direction of this work, ensuring the project reflects global perspectives while maintaining local relevance within the NDIS and Irish healthcare frameworks.
